According to reports, the next character in Genshin Impact has been revealed. The latest 2.0 update, published by developer miHoYo, infused the free-to-play PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile game with a plethora of new content, much of which players have already breezed through. As a result, people are starting to predict and await the game's next release, Update 2.1. Given the magnitude of 2.0, many gamers anticipate a lesser, filler update, but according to a new rumor, there will be no additional filler updates until at least 2022.
The news comes from Genshin Impact insider and leaker Genshin Report, who relays word that the game's next update will include a new character and a new weapon, with the former being Kokomi, the commander of the Sangonomiya Resistance, who the game characterizes as a smart, intellectual figure.
"Despite her delicate look, she is the head of the Sangonomiya resistance," according to the character's description. "She is a knowledgeable and resourceful military counselor, and despite her calm demeanor, she has everything ordered and in her grip; she is the brains of the troops."
LEAK FROM GENSHIN IMPACT 2.1 REVEALS NEW CHARACTER KOKOMI, MORE ISLANDS AND STORY QUEST
A fresh leak outlines what the 2.1 Update will include. To begin with, Genshin Report notes that the 2.0 Update is not the only thing we've seen of the Inazuma update. Another Inazuma island will be included in the 2.1 Update. In fact, through the end of the year, every update will include a new Inazuma Island. The 2.1 changes, on the other hand, will not be a filler patch. The leaker explains that there will be no filler patches in Genshin Impact until 2022.
That is a substantial amount of information from the 2.1 Update. With the beta set to begin any day now, we should find out more shortly.
